Our Team. Our experienced clinical team has professional training and certification in palliative medicine and palliative care nursing. Members of the team work at the UNC School of Medicine, UNC Hospitals and affiliated clinics, and other community-based sites in the UNC Health Care System. The Palliative Care & Hospice Program is the primary academic home for physicians trained and certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Our medical faculty provide excellence clinical care with interdisciplinary teams in the UNC Medical Center Palliative Care and Hospice clinical services. The mission of the UNC Palliative Care Program is to promote palliative care clinical services, research and education to improve care and outcomes for persons with serious illness and their families.
